Reading

I don't play poker often, but I like the way it teaches you to think through situations: be honest about the likelihoods.

There was something about choosing this book and being in this particular season of life that touched me more than it would have usually. Or perhaps that book was just that good in creating those feelings.

"Our surroundings have the power to transform who we are inside, as well as the energy we give off."

"Looking back now, I spent my life telling lies—as soon as I did this, as soon as that finishes, I'll be able to do whatever I want."

"When things shatter, you can gain the pieces. When I shatter, I can live as shattered pieces." Shattered Pieces 산산조각, Jeong Ho-seung 정호승

It leaves you a bit unsatisfied, but satisfied after reading.

I found this book really enjoyable. I finished reading it in 3 days.

Pretty fascinating story about following this man around as he goes about trying to solve this mystery of being someone else, and the people he interacts with. It’s a very human story that makes you think about what it could be like if you were to restart.

The humanity and ethical questions raised in this novel lingers after reading. Shout out Alex for the recommendation!

Hard not to love the ideas James shares on simply making it impossible to not show up.

Peak Murakami style. It's easy to get immersed in the world he builds.

The extraordinarily ordinary. This book carries meaning for me beyond the contents of its pages, given when I acquired it and when I read it in open-ocean.

Changed how I think and leadership and building teams.

Great recipes and he's such an inspiration as a chef and person.

After reading, I ended up picking up and completing the series. It really makes you think about the universe at large.

I want to cook all these dishes described in the book.
